AHK Sao Paulo, Competence Center for Mining & Mineral Resources and GIE Meetings - insights in some interesting activities

Good morning everybody here in my blog. Good to see all of You again.

In my todays post I will share some experiences with You about our active colaboration with the Competence Center for Mining and Mineral Resources of the German-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and Industry AHK Sao Paulo (https://www.ahkbrasilien.com.br/).

 Vulkan do Brasil (https://www.vulkan.com/en-us/holding/vulkan-companies/brazil) is associated to the AHK Sao Paulo since April 12, 1975, means practically since we opened our company in this beautiful country 45 years ago.

From my return from Mexico to Brazil on - at the end of 2009 - I have always represented the German companies, for which I have been working here, in the AHK`s in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and in Porto Alegre. And since then we have always participated very actively in many of the AHK Sao Paulo`s, Rio de Janeiro`s and Porto Alegre`s fantastic events and activities. Since 2 years ago I proudly represent Vulkan do Brasil as elected member of the board of the AHK in Sao Paulo.

This has enabled us, to enhance our contact network massively and to find lots of interesting new business partners, service providers and - for sure - gather lots of valuable information for our business management in Brazil and especially in Sao Paulo as the heart of the Brazilian industry. 

At the beginning of 2016 I have made my first contact at an AHK event in Sao Paulo with Alessandro Colucci when he was just about to assume his new function as Director of the freshly created Competence Center for Mining and Mineral Resources. Since then we have made friends and colaborated in many activities related to the Brazilian mining industry. 

I remember especially well the wonderful and spectacular "1st Brazilian - German Seminar for Mining and Mineral Resources", which Alessandro had organized in Belo Horizonte in Minas Gerais state in August 2016. Vulkan do Brasil was one of the sponsors of this event and I held a presentation speech there for our company. 

I attended this event in Belo Horizonte together with my Vulkan do Brasil management team colleagues Arno Ett (Sales Director Vulkan Drive Tech Latin America), Tiago Bedani (Sales Director Vulkan Drive Tech Brasil) and Luiz Reimão (Regional Sales Manager Mining of Vulkan do Brasil) and we had a lot of fun and made good contacts and many friends there.

Since then Vulkan do Brasil - as one of the leading (since more than 40 years) suppliers of components (couplings, brakes, backstops) for the Brazilian and Latin American mining industry is - closely colaborating with the Competence Center for Mining and Mineral Resources and participating actively in all its events and activities.

Yesterday I represented our company in the first online "GIE" (Experience Exchange Group), where we normally meet personally at the AHK offices in Sao Paulo together with 10 - 20 other mining equipment suppliers and service providers (AHK members only) and to which Alessandro always invites interesting speakers from the mining industry. 

This kind of networking and exchange of information and experiences is very important for all of us because each of the participating parties contributes openly with interesting information and business insights, which are highly helpful for many others. And for sure - between many of the participants direct contacts and friendships have been established and we help each other whenever possible. 

The absolute highlight of Alessandro`s and the Competence Center for Mining and Mineral Resources of the AHK Sao Paulo`s activities during this year has been the perfectly organized "5th Brazilian - German Conference for Mining and Mineral Resources" which has happened online and called huge attention and resonance amongst the Brazilian and German mining industry community with its program very rich in  spectacular speeches, presentations and debates.

We as Vulkan do Brasil are very proud about our certain role as "founding brothers" and we will definitely accompany Alessandro, the Competence Center for Mining and Mineral Resources and the AHK Sao Paulo during all future activities.

By the way - we, respectively our friends from Vulkan Africa and Vulkan Australia, are also associated to the AHKs in Santigo/Chile, Lima/Peru, Johannesburg/South Africa, Accra/Ghana and Sydney/Australia and for sure we work very closely together with Alessandro`s colleagues from the Competence Centers for Mining and Mineral Resources over there and participate in many of their activities as well. 

Mining business is clearly a global business and we as mining technology suppliers - the same as most other supplier companies - attend this industry globally. I will share some more detailed experiences about our concrete activities and projects in Latin America, Africa and Australia - which we internally organise within our Vulkan Southern Hemisphere Initiative - with You in future posts here in my blog.
